01

Apply LMU's official foundation

Disable Steam Input when it degrades force feedback, enable Use Steering Wheel Range From Vehicle, calibrate the wheel to the driver's maximum range, use low smoothing, and keep Minimum Steering Torque at zero for direct drive. Invert FFB only when forces run in the wrong direction.

LMU does not publish one numeric preset for every base. Values below are a conservative community starting point, not an official Studio 397 or Fanatec profile.

02

Conservative ClubSport baseline

Start with SEN Auto, FFB 100, FUL 50, NDP 10–15, NFR 0–5, NIN 0, INT 3, and FEI, FOR, SPR, and DPR 100. In LMU begin with FFB Strength 40–55, Smoothing 0–2, Minimum Torque 0, and vehicle range enabled.

Some shared DD+ tunes use LMU strength 100, but that can create excessive output and reduce headroom on a 15 Nm-class base. Start lower for safety and dynamic detail, then increase only after checking strong sustained corners.

03

Check clipping before adding weight

Use a high-downforce car in a loaded corner. If steering reaches one constant force and kerb detail disappears, lower game strength. If the wheel is detailed but too light, increase in small steps. Do not copy CSL DD percentages: the physical torque and filter behaviour are different.

FUL controls the optional high-frequency layer where supported. Tune it separately from steering load so vibration does not mask tyre forces.

04

Oscillation and filtering

Confirm wheel calibration and the current LMU build before compensating with filters. Add damping in small steps for straight-line oscillation. Add minimal smoothing for harsh signal texture. Retest after LMU updates because documented filtering behaviour can change.

Save the game version, Fanatec driver, firmware, rim diameter, and High Torque mode with the preset.
