How to calculate race fuel

Exact race demand is race laps multiplied by representative fuel use per lap. The recommended load then adds your separate formation and safety allowances and always rounds upward to the selected fuel increment. For timed races, predicted laps are rounded up; enable the extra-lap option only when the event rules allow another lap to begin after time expires.

How much reserve should you use?

One extra lap is a practical starting point, but it is not universal. Measure several clean, representative laps with the same car, setup, fuel multiplier, and conditions. Keep formation use separate so the result explains every assumption. Tank-capacity stop counts are feasibility estimates; optimal strategy also depends on tyre rules, refuelling rate, pit loss, and weather.
